How does joining Buildnet benefit me?We offer a better value service than other tender notification services. Well of course – we’re free. Plus there’s a whole toolkit of templates and resources to make running your business easier. Does your existing tender service offer you this? At no charge?
I'm a sole trader - what do I get out of a Buildnet membership? Our tenders range from large construction contracts through to small fit outs and renovations ideal for the sole trader or smaller contractor. You will definitely find enough opportunities to make a membership worthwhile. Anyway, it's free. What have you got to lose?
What if I don't need more work right now, why should I be a member? We think you'll still benefit a lot, even if you're not actively seeking new contracts. For instance, if you're really busy you may need subcontractors. Place an ad, and you'll be getting responses from qualified, quality tradesmen within 24 hours. And if you have plenty of work you might be thinking about expanding your business, in which case you'll want to keep an eye out for more and bigger opportunities. Plus, as a member you'll also have access to all our industry news, articles and trend reports, which are a useful tool.
Are there any 'perks' or discounts? You mean aside from all the free resources and services you get as part of your membership?! Well, we're working on some 'mates rates' opportunities with some of our advertisers and sponsors, so hopefully there will be soon - we'll keep you posted!
Can I get tenders for more than one trade? Most of our members find they get the most value from receiving e-mails for their specific trade, or for their trade plus general building tenders. If you require more than one trade to get the most out of our service, please contact us and we can tailor a package to suit you.
Pricing
What does it cost to become a member?Nothing. Zero. It's free. The only thing we ask is that if you find Buildnet useful, spread the word.
So, how come you can offer this as a free service? Our goal in starting Buildnet was to help resolve what we see as a problem in the industry – not enough information being shared, and too many fees being charged for what is, in most sectors, a free service. We don't think that's fair.
To maintain Buildnet as a free service though, we depend on advertising revenue from our partners. And this in turn depends on our members spreading the word about Buildnet to help us grow our membership. So if you think it's worth it – tell your mates to join. And if you're not happy – please tell us, so we can make things work better.
Nothing! Yes, that's right, nothing. Refreshing, isn't it?
What does it cost me to advertise my business on Buildnet?Costs vary depending on how big the ad is and where you want to put it. There are options to advertise on the site, or become a partner to our daily tender e-mails. Please contact us for a full listing of ratecard details.

Do I need a broadband connection? No, you can receive your daily notification e-mails with a dial up connection - we don't send large files or attachments so you won't have a problem.
Can I join Buildnet if I don't have internet at home?Yes, as long as you can access your inbox to download the daily tender opportunities. If you don't have internet access at home, you can always sign up to a Hotmail, GMail or Yahoo account and access your e-mail from an internet café or a friend's house.
I've forgotten my password, what do I do?Just click on our forgot password link, enter your e-mail address, and a new, random password will be e-mailed to you. You will then be able to login to Buildnet where you will be prompted to choose a new password which only you know.
I've signed up as a homeowner, and now I can't get any of the tender lists. What do I do?We’ll have to manually switch you over – sorry, it's part of our security. Just e-mail contact us and tell us what tender lists you want to subscribe to, and we'll sort it out for you.
